...Geez, why do I ALWAYS seem to say it late?? Last year, I wished you all a Merry Christmas on January 4th. Well...at least it's not as late this year! I hope you guys had a great one!
WARNING: This update will probably be pretty lengthy!
I'm sure some of you are wondering where in the world I've been (I seem to be very active on here at some times, and then go through points where I don't get on for a couple of months at a time)- and I don't blame you! With being in the middle of my senior year now, it's been hard to find extra time to get on or even draw much, for that matter. I really wish I had more time...but now that it's winter break, hopefully I can be more productive, as far as my art goes. DAMN YOU, SCHOOL, FOR KEEPING ME SO OVERWHELMED!
Other than school keeping me busy and being the main source of most of my stress, I think I've been pretty happy! I'm really excited to graduate, even though I'm still not quite sure which college I want to go to yet (and that scares me, too)...I can't wait to finally leave high school and all the nasty people inside of it!
Looking back, it's crazy to see how much I've grown over the years. During freshman year, I went in as a meek, shy, withdrawn little girl...and now, as a senior, I'm so much more mature, outgoing, and open. I can't say I don't like the improvement, and I really do owe it all to my Clinton. Without him, I would still be that dark person, but he's brought so much sunshine into my life, shown me that I should never, EVER be scared to be myself...and he's loved me for who I am, which is all I could ever ask for. I'm so happy to get to share my life with him, and I can't wait to graduate with him and continue to live every day by his side. I love you so much, hun!
On a side note, I had a question for everyone! When I draw, I usually have to sit and work on my drawing for as long as it takes until it's finished, with little to no breaks. If I walk away from it and try to come back to it later, often times, I don't have as much drive to finish it as when I was working on it previously. Does anyone else feel this way, or go through something similar? Just curious.

Hey, guys! *waits for the inactivity jokes* No, I'm not dead. Unfortunately, I say that WAY more than I'd like to.
I just wanted to let you guys know that I'm barely active on here anymore...and I say that with a pretty heavy heart. I mean, dA is where my interest in art really sparked, where I've met SO many wonderful, sweet, encouraging fellow artists, from nearby states to all the way across the world *cough* the amazing !8AmyEmo8 (https://www.deviantart.com/8amyemo8) *cough* (and plenty more!), and really just where I first started getting out there as far as my own artwork goes. That's why I wanted to let you all know. Because you're all like family to me, and your sup
Merry Christmas!
*gasp* What's this? Shelby is actually writing a Christmas journal...ON TIME?! Did someone tear a hole in the space-time continuum or something?! ...No, my dear friends, don't worry. I promise that the fabric of time is still intact (as far as I know ;P), and monuments around the world will not start disappearing and popping up in your backyard. I promised that I would really kick myself in the butt to keep up with my journals, and so I'm doing exactly that!
This year, I feel like I've grown up a lot, having a job now and such, graduating from high school...and I now see, even more so, how hectic it gets around the holidays. Most jobs undergo
Hello again, friends!
It's that time of year again: time to update my journal! :D It seems that I really only update my journal about three times every year, which is sad...I promise I'll try to keep it up to date more often! For the time being, I have tons to update you guys about, so I'll try to make this easier to read; thank goodness for bullet points!
:bulletred: I graduated high school in June! (Y'know, no biggie or anything)
:bulletyellow: I now have a job, as a front desk associate at a gym!
:bulletwhite: Clinton (~infiniteproductions1 (https://www.deviantart.com/infiniteproductions1)) and I continue to get closer and closer to our four year anniversary! Whoop whoop! :iconiluplz:

A side of ranting past midnight.
*please ignore the title, I seriously can't think of a better one*
Sooo...you know that moment when you have your Painting final on Monday? And it's Sunday night, and you're working on your project for said final? And then, of course, something bad happens to ruin said project for said final? Like, say...YOU DROP A PAINTBRUSH WITH WHITE PAINT ON IT ONTO A LARGE PORTION OF THE PAINTING THAT'S BLACK. And THEN, when you try to rub off as much as you can and try to paint over the white spot with black, you realize...the large portion that you thought was black, is actually a dark gray. So NOW, you have an out-of-place black spot on one of the ma
